Berwick or Wallsend ?

Shanksy went on the main site claimin "it's not my fault" "it's all the councils fault" yet he allows his out of town cars to blatantly Rank up on a North Tyneside Hacnkney Carriage Rank. If he was a responsible operator he would be telling his drivers to toe the line or they're sacked, why are they sitting on ranks when they should be covering their own work? Aweh Shanksy have they got no respect for you? or are you just happy as long as you get the rents?

Dear bob, i think it is more of a case of the "Berwick Hacks.. aka Private Hire" taking the pee and trying to earn more money at the expense of the hacks. I suspect the private hire offices are also feeling the pinch, but even so, why take our work, illegally ? Its hard to blame the office owner, although if it was a business and times were tough, redundancies would follow, but that is not in the office owners interests, they still get their rent as you say, so why should they care ? Answer, because thanks to sites like this, they will be named and shamed !!!!!

Its tough for everyone at the moment, builders, bank workers etc but that is no excuse to maintain earnings by robbing the kacks of their rightful work.

why don't you email the picture to Berwicks licensing department asking them whereabouts in Berwick is the rank?

Or put in a complaint about the vehicles pictured?

Good, if he doesn't answer within say 7 days....send it to the Chief Executive pointing out your original complaint wasn't answered and wonder if he has the time if he could answer it himself....the cat should be amongst the pigeons.

hi i am a hack driver from the south side of the river, i have passed that rank many times but i have never seen a nt hack on the rank, i have seen plenty of nt private hire on there as well, so you cannot just blame the scurge from the borders for ilegaly plying for hire on a taxi rank

Some of the reasons that you dont see a NT hack on that rank very often are:-
I dont think drivers are aware that its a 24 hour rank, it is not an established rank, so custom would have to be built up over a period of time and finally its not often you can actually get onto the rank because of parked ph's, vans etc.
